COCA-COLA FREESTYLETouchscreen food vendors offer hundreds of foods and drinks in seconds. One of the more popular examples of this is the Freestyle machine from Coca-Cola. This machine allows you to take your favorite coke drink (Such as Sprite, Fanta, and, obviously, Coca-Cola) and blend it with different flavors like raspberry and orange. This machine is so popular, it has a home in over 15,000 Burger King restaurants in the U.S (According to the Coke website). Click the button to visit their site!
I recently interviewed Chris Littlefield, who works for a restaurant supply distributor, and I asked him the question, "What can you tell me about these touchscreen vendors?" In response, he said, "We have seen an increase in touchscreen machines. It ties back into the younger generation's preference for technology experiences where they eat and socialize, showing that perhaps one of the reasons this machine is so popular is that almost everyone knows how to use it, and is familiar and has experience with it." BUT, HOW DOES IT WORK?Well, in todays modern age, almost all of us know how to work a touchscreen, but how does this big, red machine know what beverage we pick? The machine uses tiny cartridges for the soda and flavor. When a person selects a drink, the machine senses what flavors it needs and uses the cartridges. Then they use the cartridges like ink in a printer to dispense the drink.
